In this tutorial we show you how to use a new mould making putty material to create a high quality mould suitable for use when making your own carbon fibre parts (covered in our other tutorials). The materials and techniques shown in this video accompany our Carbon Mods Carbon Fibre Mould Making Kit:
http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/Products/Carbon-Fibre-Mould-Making-Kit__CMMMK750

This product and many more are also available from http://www.easycomposites.co.uk. To talk about your project or see what others are getting up to please join in on the forum http://www.talkcomposites.com

Whilst perfect for making carbon fibre parts, this mould making process would also be suitable for making any composites parts (GRP, FRP, Carbon/Kevlar etc.).

  • How long do these molds last actually ? How many times can i re-use them?

I'm planning on ordering these products probably , together with the infusion-starterkit .

Lovely products and kits you guys offer, especially for 'beginners' like me ...

Would be nice to know if these molds are rigid enough to last for some time .

  • @TheAMGLover : They're definately designed to last a LONG time. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to get a hundred pulls out of one of these moulds, providing you look after it. I'm glad you like what we do and look forward to working with you.

  • thanks for sharing your knowlege..where can i buy large amounts of mold putty or can i make my own?

  • @AllForTheGame : If you're in the UK or Europe then we can ship large quantities of the putty to you, no problem. We sell it in 20kg tubs. Please get in touch through our Easy Composites shop and we can sort this out for you.

  • How much is this?

I live in Taiwan. Can I buy this products?

  • @shoppingmore : Yes, we can ship to anywhere. Please just get in touch through our site and we can arrange this for you.

  • @Moparguy4life11 : Take a look on our Talk Composites Forum. There's a thread I've got on there (and a sneak peak of a new video) where we explain how to make a carbon fibre bonnet from start to finish.

  • CarbonMods - best Carbonproducts ever!

  • @carbonmods Thanks mate

  • @kassop : You can use T-Cut to polish - it's pretty fine (it's designed for soft paint not hard plastic) so progress won't be too fast but it will make some progress into the job.

  • @carbonmods Can i use t-cut wax to polish it or do i hve to buy a special wax?
