@23deniro23 Joey wasn't his girlfriend here. He virtually ignored her for a year while he messed around with that chick from "sweet valley high". Dawson was a whiney prick who behaved like a spoiled brat when the world didn't bow to his every need.

Even in the end of the series Joey says that he was her only "one night stand" because he spend the night with her when he had a girlfriend..
If that's not a prick from a person that said to be her "soulmate" I don't know what is a prick.

Next ep. 3x20 when he finds out about them he says joey that she can't be with Pacey and remain his friend. That she must choose between him and Pacey.
Last ep. of the season when he realizes that she is devastated because she is not with Pacey because of him he says "You are free.. " as giving her permission to be with Pacey. (WTF?? when he became her owner)

i love how the writers handled pacey and joey's relationship. they didn't rush it or try to make it some big ratings grabber. they showed the genuine friendship between them and they portrayed their relationship realistically. i think thats what a lot of teen shows today lack, substance. characters on shows these days just hook up with anyone and then forget about it like nothing happened.
