It's good to see that the young people have a good head on their shoulders even if the generations in power don't. It gets harder to fight as you get older, but we've all got to keep at it. :D

Hrm. I'd still get rid of Roe vs Wade, the court ruling is extremely flawed. It basically states 1minute before birth is abortion, 1minute after is murder. Leave such laws up to the states where the belong.

After reading that book I think a great new bumper sticker for the pro-choice movement is this: "Trust Women". The idea is that women, when given the choice, make a better decision than congress or anybody else could possibly make for them.

Freakonomics was a GREAT book!

I appreciate your reply. I can appreciate the argument but it would aslo stand to reason that a whole generation of scientist, doctors, philosphers, and teachers were lost as well. Have you read "Free to choose" by Milton Freidman? It is a wonderful book on economics.
That is a very valid point, and in fact the authors accidentally show that when they talk about a man who grew up in the ghetto, got into drugs and gang life yet had his life completely turned around and went to Harvard--I have forgotten his name but he is also a one of the leading professor in African-American studies. Secondly, I haven't read "Free to Choose", i will have to check it out thanks for the reccomendation.

What a horrible question. I am to understand that your argument for abortion is that the aborted fetuses may grow up to criminals, and the world is better off without them. Why stop at the fetus, why not round up the poor and put them in ghettos and kill off those that may have the predisposition to commit crime. It would really make for a better world, and since you seem fit to play god, why not choose who lives and dies at any age.

I actually don't support abortion at all, this is for a school project in which we had to formulate a question based on a book that was assigned for summer reading, in this case, the book "Freakonomics". The authors made a very controversal argument that the drop in crime rate that occured when crime was supposed to shoot through the roof in the 90s, was due to the fact that an entire generation was not born.

There were flaws found in their research, but they did create a mostly sound argument. However, I still in no way support abortion, this was solely for the purpose of a school project.
