1957 Silvertone Model 1333 Amp Preview

As described in the video, I bought this amp several months ago at a yard sale. Since I finally have it tweaked just right and I realized that not many people have heard of this amp, I decided to post a video to demo its tone. Sorry for the bad lighting and bad recording quality, I am recording through the camera on my Macbook. If there are any questions that I don't answer, feel free to comment or message me, and I will do my best to answer.

Oh yea, during the video, I play parts of "Who Did You Think I Was" by John Mayer, and "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness.

Also, for the first time, this is actually me playing, not a friend.

that's not a class A amp. Is a class A/B (two 6v6s). also, if you want to push this amazing amp further into clipping territory, simply use a clean boost like a Boss GE7. Those digital muti-effects racks blow. No offence. The chord progression you wrote is AWESOME!!

These amps RULE! I habe a 1333 and a 1331.

@ruk777 actually, I'm pretty darn sure it's not an A/B because mine doesn't have two 6v6's. It has a collection of other weird tubes. I'll double check when i get home, though. Do you have a source?

@ruk777 haha, well, this video was posted over 3 years ago when I was still in high school, so that's part of it. Hm, i can't remember if I've tried a clean boost with this amp yet... I'll give it a run! Part of the problem just is that the amp is pretty old, and I'm not sure how well the previous owner took care of it. It's hard to get good sounds out of it.

(For the record, i sold that Boss pedal about 3 months later. I have real pedals now haha)

These amps do shine without pedals though. Like I said up here before, just use a clean boost

@RDArtist81 lol well, i did play straight through for a bit, but i wanted to show that a pedal (albeit a not so good one) could work well through one of these.

Plus, quite frankly, this amp doesn't sound that good. It wasn't that wonderful when it was built in 1957, and it ain't so hot now. So turning it up really loud just doesn't work that well.
