  • Great Austin Blues, terrible dancing.

  • Thanks so much for posting this, it brings back great memories of a band I saw a few times in that 1979-82 era.

As my friend, the great Alabama-born Bluesman James Harman says: "You can't buy that now!"

  • This must have been about the time I first saw them perfom at Rockefeller's in Houston, about the fall of 1982. It was this line-up with Keith on bass and Fran on drums.

At that time I was starting to hear that Jimmy's little brother was putting on a pretty good show, too. Saw SRV a couple of months later at Fitzgerald's.

  • can't watch/hear this too much.

  • what's up with the volume? it's barely aubible

  • these guys really rock

  • the origional house band for Antone's. kick ass!

  • I've heard so many bad versions of this song over the years, its great to hear it the right way. This band were the best.

  • @2quundar - i totally agree, saw this band with Guitar Junior on guitar also, just awesome, 'Big Eye's is killer, saw him playing harp too recently at one of Mark Hummel's Harmonica Blow Outs. The backbeat thing has so much to do with chemistry, and imo, too many soloists just play on top of the bass & drums, not in the groove. I thought Fran Christina and Keith Ferguson were huge too. Btw, there's a new release of Junior Wells with the Ace's live in Boston in 1959 that is nuts! Check it out

  • @jayscott49 I totally agree about Bob stroger, buth who know these guys? ( Nick Holt was not so bad, too...)Btw , I saw about 20 times Muddy on stage with that band, this one with Fuzz + Willie Smith ( the best duo, I think, monsters of backbeat) , Margolin etc & I think this old school was one of the best for blues students.
