Jesus Saves by Travis Cottrell

Hear the heart of heaven beating, "Jesus Saves. Jesus saves."
And the hush of mercy breathing, "Jesus Saves. Jesus saves."
Hear the host of angels sing, "Glory to the Newborn King."
And the sounding joy repeating, "Jesus saves."

See the humblest hearts adore Him. "Jesus saves. Jesus saves."
And the wisest bow before Him. "Jesus saves. Jesus saves."
See the sky alive with praise, melting darkness in its place
There is life forevermore, "Jesus saves. Jesus saves."

He will live our sorrow sharing, "Jesus saves. Jesus saves."
He will die our burden bearing, "Jesus saves. Jesus saves."
"It is done!" will shout the cross, Christ has paid redemption's cost!
While the empty tomb's declaring, "Jesus saves."

Freedom's calling, chains are falling, hope is dawning bright and true.
Day is breaking, night is quaking, God is making all things new.
"Jesus saves."

Oh to grace, how great a debtor! "Jesus saves. Jesus saves."
All the saints who shout together. "I know that Jesus saves."
Rising us so vast and strong lifting up salvation's song,
The redeemed will sing forever, the redeemed will sing forever, the redeemed will sing forever, "Jesus saves."
"Jesus saves."

  • Acts 4:10-15

It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

  • @bunnicosta , Well, most likely, it's easter, right? And easter is a victorious wake, because Christ did truly die, and then rose from the grave. That how we know that Jesus saves. But if it were my wake, I would have to agree. I don't like the background much either.

  • I find this song very touching!! But I just dont like the background for this video. I mean, it looks like he's singing at a wake!!! =/

  • @FroMaestro My point is that all religions are part of a culture i.e. manufactured from superstition and custom stretching back to and using earlier myths, legends and imagination from the earliest story telling.

Morality comes from community reason and 'order' comes from nature and changes according to conditions.

If you need a myth to worship, fine. But it is pure culture dressed as reality, nothing more.

  • @Salinity1001 Christianity isn't Western; it has the most ethnic & geographical spread of any world religion. As per Jesus "saving in the Christian brain"...well, yeah lol. "Only" in the Christian brain implies there aren't converts from other religions, but there are.

Whatever your objections, I hope you've called the question relying on reason, the existence of morality & the witness of all created order. God is reconciling us to him & thru this 1st century God-man (Jesus) is how. Be well =]

  • Jesus saves myth and superstition in the western christian human brain, not the Jewish or Muslim or Sikh or Buddhist or Mormon human brain, only those in the western or christian brain.

    Funny huh?

  • This song sends shivers down my spine! In a good way, of course!!! This song is amazing when sung by a choir!!!

    JESUS SAVES!!!

  • @jrsampson2000 and don't you realise that you are the servant of the Devil?
