Excellent video and thanks for Sharing! I'm suprised at the quick progess of work at North Pier and around the Metropole.
All being well I'll be visiting Blackpool next week to do another photographic tour of the tramway upgrade work.

are Blackpool transport getting new trams ? the old trams are over 50 years old. the sea air must corrode the metal on the trams . must be expensive to maintain. we all hope none will end up in the scrap yard. end up in museums. THESE TRAMS ARE PART OF BLACKPOOL HERITAGE . MANY TOURISTS GO TO BLACKPOOL TO RIDE ON THESE TRAMS. WONT BE SAME WITHOUT THE BALLOON TRAMS ECT , RUNNING ALONG THE PROM

@Littlealan1959 Blackpool Transport are expecting delivery of the first new tram in July / August time (16 in total).
These trams are expected to be running by Easter 2012.
They are keeping around 10 Balloon cars with the door modifications. Most of the old trams will hopefully be saved from the scrap man.

@Littlealan1959 It's not just the Metropole but most of Blackpool is not to happy, I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. It's a shame that most of the old trams will be withdrawn after this season.
