10 gallon glass tank & rio 2100+ pump (692 gph)

i made my baffles a little too wide, so i don't have them in yet. except one, which you can see jammed in there to help confine the bubbles to the right side.

  • is it possible to drill holes on a 10 gallon tank.

  • @razaaztlantexican

it is possible with a glass tank, but it's very difficult and risky. you also need to acquire special drill bits. if you can find an acrylic tank you might have an easier time.

  • can you control your return line cause im having trouble

  • i have a plastic valve at the end of the return line. it gives me plenty of control.

  • how much were your acrylic sheets? the only sheets that i can find at my hardware store, are 4'x4'

    theyre also $250.LOL

  • that price is insane. i don't remember how much i paid, but it was not much, and i got a piece about that size. look online, you can find some good prices and they'll ship it to you.

  • if you want to use a pump to do the work of the overflow, then it needs to be matched with the sump return pump. also, you have to worry about the pumps failing. with an overflow, you only worry about one, but using 2 pumps ups the failure chance.

  • i think he meant if he could just use a pump in the main tank to move water into his sump i guess instead of having a overflow..

  • i don't understand. overflow boxes don't require a pump. mine uses a u-tube to siphon water from the inside box to the outside box. you need to find the flow-rate of your overflow box and match the return pump with it. the display tank needs to return water as fast as it receives it, making a continuous circuit from tank to sump.

  • i got all my tubes and acrylic sheets from hardware stores. i wouldn't put an anemone in a 20g tank to be honest.
