Tests conducted in 1958 at NASA Langley Research Center's 20-Foot Vertical Spin Tunnel. The model tested in the tunnel was a SBC2-5. After the test in the tunnel, researchers conducted correlating tests where they dropped a larger version of the model from a helicopter so they could view its stall and spin characteristics.

For more on the 20-Foot Spin Tunnel and other tests conducted there, see http://crgis.ndc.nasa.gov/historic/645.
