Install Ubuntu Server in VMWare Fusion for the Mac Part 1

Part 1 of 2. This series of two videos shows how to install Ubuntu Linux Server in VMWare Fusion for Intel-based Macs. Fusion allows you to run a full Linux operating system in a window on your desktop. Why do it? To experiment, to learn, and for instructional purposes. The video is divided into two sections due to length limitations; view both for the complete instructions. Ubuntu Linux Server version 8.04 is a free download at http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download. Total running time is about 20 minutes. So, if you want to install ubuntu in the Widows partition, use vmware server. If in the mac partition, choose vmware fusion

Do you mean you are using a mac and aready have fusion virtua machine running windows? If so, no probem, you can have more than one virtual machine. Or, do you mean your host system is windows? If so, see my other series using vmware server for windows.

Linux systems do not echo password characters. Just type in the user id and password you entered when you installed the system
