  • @nomadineternity

  • You're welcome

  • Chacon these days is pretty much homeless. Rummages around the street picking up aluminium cans to make some cash and mentally isn't doing well either. A hard careeer and a personal life marred by tradgedy. No way for an all time great champ to be living :-(

  • fuckin' hell. check out the coming attractions "next up: Gomez Pintor". All on network TV, man I was born to late.

  • WHAT A FIGHT! I had it 140-143 to Chacon, what an awesome fight though. Loved it.

  • Awesome fight, but Chacon won by a good 4-5 points.

  • The best era of pro boxing was the 1980]s !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holmes,Sugsr Ray, Hagler ,mancini Arguello,Proyor ,Hearns,Duran wow !!!!

  • You know if I had to pay 60 bucks to watch this back then it would have been well worth it. Now I have to pay that much to watch a fight that doesnt have 1 exciting round...much less 15!

  • its hard to believe that when people mention the greatest boxing fights of all time they do not mention Limon-Chacon 4. This is boxing at its finest brutal art. There is a reason why Bobby Chacon was so loved because he gave everything he had and left it in the Boxing Ring. Go back to round 1 and hear the ovation that Chacon gets its beautiful!!. Thank you for the post

  • The greatest day of action fighting in Boxing history. Most people forget that this fight was held the same day (and practically the same time) as the Ray Mancini - Duk Koo Kim fight, which was a brilliant slugfest before the tragic ending. As great a day as it was for boxing, it was also the day that led to title fights being shortened to 12 rounds. I do agree though, that this is the greatest fight I have ever seen.

  • bobby "school boy" chacon. great heart, and a great fighters, when fighters fought like roberto duran. I saw this fight and it was one of the best fights ever. back and forth and with seconds left bobby pulled it off.

  • Remember watching this fight on T.V. and cheering myself hoarse when Chacon sent Limon crashing to the canvas with a straight right hand in the 15th. Viva Chacon!

  • I'm wondering if this is the last WBC title fight that actually went 15 rounds; not scheduled for 15 but actually went 15 rounds. This fight was held around the time that the WBC mandated that its title fights would only be scheduled for 12. The beginning of an end of an era.

  • @pnutbutrncrackers (Continuing on the previous comment ...)

I think that is nonsense on the part of all three judges. What a robbery it would have been if he had lost or drew! I had Chacon in front 136-132 after 14. Round 15 was just the cherry on top, making it a final tally of 146-140 for me, in favor Bobby Chacon. I believe he took the last five rounds and finished like a beast.

Final note: I didn't know of the (apparently) pitiful state of his life today, and it makes me sad.
