This is a comparison video of the exhaust sound of a Porsche 911 with the stock muffler, open heat exchangers (muffler disconnected), and a Flowmaster 80 series 1in/2out muffler with the 2nd out capped off. I never liked the sound of the stock muffler, and added to the fact it weighs 30lbs, I decided to switch it out with something that sounded better and weighed less. I went with the Flowmaster because it weighs about 12lbs. and sounds far better than stock without being too loud or drone-y inside the cabin. The engine is actually a 1983 911 SC motor that's been modded out to 3.2 liters, and pulls the lighter bodied 74 around very well. At the end I tagged on some shaky video of the exhaust sound from inside the cabin with the window down.
Nice sound compare!!
@verdeboyo you are not very correct.
I have 1979 924.
That the 924 engine is called EA831 which is never used for Golf.
This engine based on the VW LT's but modified by Porsche.
Anyway about sound I reckon 911's flat six is much better^

@volkscom you are joking Im sure. 924 is a vw golf engine with no excitement factor at all. And the VWE sounds like an old washing machine. I know what I'm talkin' 'bout too

at 1.11 the one in two out I love that race sound, lquite like 964RS. I have a Dansk two in one out, and love the racy sound, but not as nice and RACE like as your's.
