No Barriers And Shake-A-Leg Miami

Shake-A-Leg Miami will host Miamis first-ever No Barriers Festival, June 4-7, at Shake-A-Legs sea base in Coconut Grove. The No Barriers Festival, now in its fourth year, is an international multi-day event that combines land and water-based adaptive sports with cutting-edge techniques and technologies that enable people with challenges and disabilities to live as actively as possible and break through their own personal barriers.

The four-day Festival will strive to replace recurring perceptions about disability and personal challenges, with a renewed belief in what is and what will be possible. Festival highlights include music, art, film and cultural programs; an Innovation Village featuring product demonstrations and supervised use of the newest adaptive products; Science and Technology Symposiums showcasing the latest research and development in assistive technology; and Interactive Clinics and activities such as Sailing, Adaptive Fishing, Windsurfing, Scuba Diving, Handcycling, Outrigger Canoeing, Wheelchair Fencing and much more. The No Barriers Festival is for everyone, including outdoor enthusiasts, disabled individuals, veterans, health care providers, therapists and manufacturers, and retailers of adaptive and outdoor equipment.
