The Ghostriders are an Australian cycling group who love to ride whenever and wherever they can . Established in 2002 they have now ridden together hundreds of times and completed rides all over the world. The ride in this video is along the Maribyrnong River Trail in Melbourne. We were fortunate to get lovely weather for the day of the ride. Watch and enjoy.

  • It looks like a very nice trail. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks sunlightplayer. Considering it is the middle of winter here (and it's been much colder and wetter than usual) we were pleased to get such a great day. The damaged sections of the trail were caused by torrential rain earlier this year. I have only a couple of weeks left before I take our group of 16 riders to do our 2011 Europe ride, so really eager to get going now. Now go and "do some distance" :-)

  • Continued: I spoke to a parks Vic officer in Brimbank Park last week as they were putting up the "track closed" fence again and she said that they're re-grading and surfacing it in February - just in time for kids to be back at school with no time to ride their bikes!

  • Did this ride today from Brimbank Park to Poyntons (Essendon, 1km past Lily St Lookout). Whilst the sealed parts of the track are great, the unsealed sections can be quite dangerous. My hybrid with 1.75 road semi-slicks was sliding all over the place in some sections and nearly lost it on the multitude of quite deep gravel traps. There is also one hill section that is entirely rocks.
