Every time I see a Chihuahua movie or a Dalmatian movie, or any breed for that matter, in a movie I think, "Oh no - we're going to see thousands of those in the shelters in a few months", and sure enough your piece illustrates that reality brilliantly. Thanks for making us all more aware.

I hope people get the MESSAGE, damnit! It's not about "wanting" a Chihuahua. It's about the fact that people should never, ever PURCHASE a dog or cat or bird, since they come from puppy mills. It's about ADOPTING innocent, dumped-off, uncared-for animals who are put into shelters, and then eventually killed, because of animal overpopulation. PLEASE ADOPT YOUR ANIMAL COMPANIONS! PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO HELP FIND HOMES FOR THESE POOR ABANDONED ANIMAL FRIENDS! And spay and neuter! Care/help.

daang so many puppies abandoned :( Im glad i got my dog from a shelter :')

Can't argue with that. There are a number of "breed specific" movies and TV shows out there from "Lassie" onwards, then again, there are movies and shows with crossbreeds too. I'm a dog groomer and dog sitter with a Cavalier, I love dogs, I love chihuahuas, and I also loved this movie, but that doesn't mean I'm going to adopt a specific breed just because I saw it in a movie or on TV. I think responsibility should be placed more on the viewers then the movie itself. However, point well made!

Actually, there was a message at the end encouraging careful and responsible adoption of dogs. Also, the movie clearly shows the wrongfullness of dog fighting and encourages adoption of homeless dogs.
Not only that, but the actors from the movie also encourage adoption from shelters. The dog who played Papi? He was from a shelter and rescued a day before he was scheduled to be put down.

Nice Vid! Good job! Did you know there is a new membership site, for Chihuahua owners and lovers only? Check my Youtube channel for the link.

Amen!

Movies make people think they are in them, and some people don't deserve the love of an animal, because unlike people, an animal ONLY wants to love you. People need to look in their own hearts!

Poor puppies!

Wow.
We are well aware of the info you stated Karen. Our concern is by promoting "breed specific" movies the major influx of purchases and surrenders to shelters after wards. Incidentally there was a major increase in Chihuahuas at shelters after this movie, to prove our case.
