It has become to be known as the "Thundersnow Blizzard" in Chicago thanks to multiple lightning strikes during the February 1 & 2, 2011 blizzard and because of this now famous reaction by The Weather Channel meteorologist Jim Cantore.

    Makes you wonder if the tall buildings "helped" the thundersnow form. Sorta like how under normal conditions lightning would not have formed on that November day in 1969, except it was also the day Apollo 12 launched and triggered the lightning.
