That's the author himself - I have this edition. There's nothing like having the book read by the author. Especially when it's Douglas Adams.
The sequel (The Long Dark Tea-Time Of The Soul) was read by Simon Jones, who also did an amazing job.

I loved every syllable of every word of every sentence of every paragraph of every page. I've finished Gently's, now it's on to Life, the Universe and Everything!

Oh i definitely i agree.
I think it is one of his best work, i like it better than most hitchhiker books, its probably comparable with life, universe and everything.
But yea, it deserves a lot more recognition.
