@brainburger Read my other comment. Water can't stay above it's own natural leve. Any water or object above the surface line will want to fall to the surface level. It's a great idea - not fake at all.

@zhinka I see your idea, but it's the same concept as when you're doing the dishes in a sink of water. You can submerge a glass, and then hold it face down, and raise it above the surface line, bringing all the water inside it above the surface. Even if you had 20% air in the top - it will still sink when you drop it. Try it.

That's why I don't see why they wouldn't fill this bowl all the way up. Maybe it's so the fish food will float... making the fish come up to get it.

This is fake it doesn't sink to the bottom because water floats.
