The ability to exercise this power with impunity is facilitated by the National Security Act of 1947. The thrust of the exposé is the Iran-Contra arms and drug-running operations which flooded the streets of our nation with crack cocaine. The significance of the documentary is probably greater today in 2007 than it was when it was made. We now have a situation in which these same forces have committed the most egregious terrorist attack on US soil and have declared a fraudulent so-called "War on Terror". The ruling regime in the US who have conducted the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, are now banging the war drum against Iran.

This seems to contradict the reaction to Wikileaks, Julian Assange and Bradley Manning. Those people released this same kind of information and are considered to be traitors and terrorists, etc. Some of the things Manning is being charged with are punishable by death and he still hasn't even received a trail let alone been convicted, yet has been held and tortured in prison for several months. Not to mention the dubious claims against, Assange.

@Saoirse0Caela - I still remember the Iran Contra Scandal. We have been fighting the secret government for a very long time. Even Bill Moyers wouldn't make mention of the LBJ conspiracy, not just with JFK, but with the USS Liberty and other Israeli/U.S. joint ventures. This is because Moyers worked closely with LBJ and other politicians and found it hard to admit the stark truth. It's good he remains objective, and this documentary is outstanding.

@Saoirse0Caela-I know this may sound crazy but the "main" reason they are considered traitors and terrorist and the government wants them to do years and years in prison is because they also released information on UFO's. UFO's as stated in another government document have a higher level of secrecy than the "H-Bomb" as it was called in the 1950's.
