This is not really my first attempt at inking a comic, but it's the best looking one so far.

While drawing on line paper, I ignore the lines completely. I can't prove it, I know... I'll make another video on blank paper for the skeptics.

This was done on a school exercise book in class (lol). (Classmates are pretty annoying...).

Tools:

-Uniball 0.38 pen
-Uniball 0.7 pen
-Correction tape
-Pencil
-A4 sized exercise book

The backstory to this scene is basically the annual Mercenary duel, set in my world called "Furgoth". The hooded guy kills another mercenary by chopping his arms off, angering another mercenary, who proceeds to start attacking him/her/squirrel (Hahah.).

The pictures aren't very clear, I know x_x My camera isn't HD.

Maybe I'll scan it later on.

HISTORY IS MADE- You watch Arc draw something /other/ than faces.

  • cool

  • Wow...

  • Nice. I actually expected something bad. This is actually pretty awesome. Keep up the good work.

  • i like your accent

  • It doesn't only make it easier, it is absolutely essential if you want to level up exponentially. xD

You don't need classes. I'll tell you how to start. Take any photo, and start trying to put your chosen subject on paper, shading and all. And do it over and over and over again, and along the way you'll learn. That's a simplified version of this whole shiz. I'll talk to you via pm.

Go for the tablet! It's much more worth it.

  • I considered that. But what exactly do you mean when you say reality. Do you mean like life-like portraits? I suppose learning something of such an obscene level of difficulty would make learning anime and manga seem much easier. I could go for art classes but my parents won't support me in that aspect. I'm not sure if I should spend the money I'm saving for a digital tablet to go to those classes. So how exactly did you learn to draw 'reality'?

  • Happy new year to you too!! :D

The problem from learning to draw straight from anime/manga is that anime is a stylized version of reality. How are you going to draw a stylized version of reality when you can't even draw reality itself? It would be like trying to build a stable building on sand. So I advise you to start drawing from real life subjects starting now. Get your foundations first, and then build on it. Phenomenal improvement is almost always guaranteed.

  • @arcturian627 Isee, you did a great job on this drawing, btw!
