This is an extract from the audio recordings of Tony Benns 2001 - 2007 diaries 'More Time for Politics' read by Tony Benn himself. In it Tony Benn meets a religious zealot on the bus and deals with this strange person in the only way he knows how: superbly. This extract is a demonstration of how a person, particularly the religious, can hold a belief as fanatically and zealously as they can and still not truly understand it. Note how this strange person fails to love his neighbour despite aggressively ordering others to do so. Also note how he fails to not judge by assuming that Mr Benn has numerous servants (which he doesn't) and condemns him for it. It seems that not even religious scripture can dispel the hatred of zealots.

  • Far left loons always try to make up these fantasy stories of how they spoke to far right or religious loons to make them look less radical. Lets not forget the statist policies of Benn were what Brown used to bankrupt the UK and leave 5 million unemployed.

  • @warriorprince1010 you're an idiot. i can't be bothered to explain why, but you are

  • @multitudinal You are an idiot for not being able to explain anything.

     Thats better.

  • @warriorprince1010 no, i just cant be bothered to write an entire essay for the benefit of some trite moron off youtube who wouldnt understand it anyway.

  • What a boring bastard

  • @warriorprince1010 The NHS was established after World WarII by the Labour party under Attlee. The Beveridge report was agreed to by all parties during WWII not before it. Love the way Tories try to re- write history!

  • @multitudinal You make no sense, so nothing to understand. The far left exploit the poor and use them for power and wealth., The NHS was put in place before WWII and agreed by all parties. Benn simply makes things up, oh and he is a millionaire like Foot, Brown and Brown's banker friends.

  • @MrDickWarrior Buffooon, make a point.

  • @warriorprince1010 Dont talk rubbish. buffoon.

  • what a superb human being

  • @CraigMetalHead Blair and Milburn were new labour. Borwn and balls were old labour...it was brown and balls deregulating the banks. Knighting goodwin. I hate the left and right, you are both the same. Hypocrits.

  • @warriorprince1010 They hold higher positions than Tony Benn... therefore their actions reflect on him... how? Look at their actions, that is the ONLY way to see where a party lies on the political scale. And the actions of New Labour have been right-wing ones.

Deregulation of banks is NOT a Liberal ideal.

  • @CraigMetalHead The Euro nations are in worse trouble, although Browns attempt to buy an election has vertualy bankrupted the UK. We have no better schools to show for all that spending. "Oh and how is "deregulating banks" a left-wing idea?"...Ed ball and gordon brown thought it was a good idea and they held higher positions than Benn. I do not remeber Benn opposing their knighting of goodwin. The left are the same as the right I am afraid
