@dumbcup the flap idea would work good but the rudder when turned would hit it so he would have to lower the rudder to apply the flap

another thought a differential from a small car on the rear wheel ,, not for drive but fix a propeller to it...

i think a retractable flap over the top of the track will prevent the track from blowing water up over the track giving u a more forward propulsion.. it appears the track is also pulling it down ward i am sure u have thought about this,, good luck.. people like u who actually build what u think about are far and few great job..
