  • Im a normal college student the most I do on my laptop is watch flash videos, write essays, and research on the internet. Would you recommend getting this instead of a laptop.

p.s. Ill need this for 2.5 years...for nursing school.

  • @yoyo482 it really depend weather u need a keyboard or not? if u need keyboard then net book all the way, if u used to digital keyboard (keeping in mind you can get apps to customize it) then this is great.

  • Hi, best review on this tablet, you know how this tablet does not have 3g, i was wondering if you put a usb modem in, would it let me use internet on it through the usb modem. thanks

  • @chingchongnoodles ty, and have not tried, i would doubt it. Also 3g version out in soon future i believe.

  • Could I watch HULU on this device, some say yea- some say no. also how many apps are in the android market ready for tablet use, i hear not many

  • @lov3lana there are plenty of apps, and you can watch hulu plus.

  • I just got this and I love it but I can only get the usb port to work when I am using the mini key board. When I try to use it with my cell phone it does not recognize the usb, any suggestions?

  • It's megabits, not megabytes

  • I appreciate the fact that you didn't fixate on its thickness and did not constantly compare it with the Galaxy (apples and oranges in my opinion). Most reviewers gripe about the 'MASSIVENESS" of the Thrive, all the while, tossing it around like it was a piece of paper. It ain't "sexy" but it is utilitarian. I consider it the "Jeep" as compared to the "Luxury SUV." You can go more places and you don't have to worry 'bout getting it dirty. Kudos on a great review. Mine arrives tomorrow.

  • BEST REVIEW ON THIS TABLET YET...GREAT JOB...=)

  • 0:28 can you download 5 row keyboard ?? (from market)

  • @yeaitsalex I actually did not get it once i heard about Tegra 3 tablets coming out later this year. But I am definitely getting a tablet and not a laptop

  • @yoyo482

Your comment is old so I guess you got a device already. I would say that the Toshiba Thrive is an excellent choice for school as it is great for work. I use to use ASUS Netbooks all the time for my work, Ive literally owned 4 different ones in the past 3 years and also 2 HP Mini's (ASUS kicks HP's ass in my opinion) I was actually getting tired of my ASUS (which is still great) and bought this Thrive to test it out, it is just as capable if not more capable than my netbook.

  • This is the best, most comprehensive and informative review of the Toshiba Thrive. I just ordered one and UPS is delivering it tomorrow. This helps me a lot.

    Thanks!

  • Does it have 3g or 4g? And if not will it come out in another update?
