you have to compare the amount of good architecture with the size of the nation. i think the major areas of innovative(thats including reusing old styles such as neoclassicism) architecture is california, chicago and new york. consider what % of the nation this makes up for. if you sweep the rest you'll get the classic sub-division nuclear family houses that get swept away by pretty much any serious storm. good architecture also has to consider sustainability

  • Some great sites, with a mix of the old and the new. Suggestions: 1. Include the architect in the captions. 2. Spend a little more time on each slide; even without the architect info, I had to stop/start the video many times to read the entire caption. Thanks for posting the videos.

  • I've been to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco (#5)

#69 Salt Lake City Public Library wow I can't believe a library looks that nice

  • #29 is truly one of "the" most important Architecture designs ever created...

    F.L. Right FTW!!!

  • Traditional in what sense? If you're referring to neo-classical, it's used as as a symbol to Rome's democratic roots. I don't buy that the U.S. doesn't have great architecture, since it really does have a great deal. Also, new ideas don't mean they're better ideas; it all comes down to personal taste.

  • USA does not have a lot of good architecture; they simply are too traditional; too afraid to push forward into unexplored areas of architecture. for example the One World Trade Center. They have all these architects around the world come up with creative and new ideas in a competition, and in the end they didn't build any of the new ideas and stuck to a traditional design scheme.

  • Ah,the BEAUTY man is capable of...
