Episode #3 of "A Bird Named SEU" (pronounced Sue): In May and June, Delaware is the epicenter of Red Knot research. DNREC Sec. Collin O'Mara says that people come from all over the world to study these incredible birds, which demonstrate the most impressive energy efficiency found in the animal kingdom. Volunteers are gathering along the state's shorelines to net, band and weigh groups of birds when they stop in Delaware to refuel on horseshoe crab eggs. They are making their way from South America to their breeding grounds in the high arctic of Canada. This amazing Red Knot is the perfect mascot for Energize Delaware.
