Freeborn - The Controversy. (The Great Horror vs. Furry Werewolf Smackdown!)

Oh yes, it's been touted as everything. Based on that 2005 teaser, it's been called pre-twilight, a furry film idea, a wussy film idea, and an awesome film idea, and in some cases called a werewolf fans best hope at a lycanthropic film that finally tells a good story. While on the other hand, some thought it was already shot and done, and just waiting for release. Those that have read the screenplay know what it is. But you can't blame anyone for getting the impressions they get sometimes, with limited information. This video is to help explain what Freeborn 'really' is... a werewolf film, and why it hasn't been released.... because it hasn't been made! .... yet.

Nice love the concept and discussion. I really think I am some one who is the perfect target for this movie. It will blow True Blood and Twilight out of the water if the characters are as good as this makes them out to me. PLus the horror aspects sound like they will rock. It will be interesting to see any anthropological dynamics that come from the conversation about the characters and the pack. Good Luck! I'd pay the 15 bucks to see this in theatres!

After seeing the 2005 teaser again, the word "furry" happens to be in it. Maybe the 1st thing that popped in their minds was the fur-suiters they see in conventions. Now if you used "hairy," I bet you would've had a different outcome.

@figarou Oh, the teaser was a human talking about what he thought he saw during the apartment fire.. :) He assumed it had to be a fursuiter, cuz c'mon.. a real werewolf? no way.

I respect your drive to continue going through with this project. However, you won't get anywhere if you're trying to please everyone. Why don't you just make the movie that YOU want to make and not worry so much about what everyone else says you should make? Large studios only focus films toward certain audiences when they want the most money out of a project, which is practically all the time these days. It just seems like it would be less stressful if your audience didn't matter so much.

@MattSullivanX Yes, you're right.. though you're not alone. For the last 2 and half years, after red victoria I've been dealing with taking care of silver after she was diagnosed with stage IIIb breast cancer.... far too many people I just havent been able to keep up with. However.. silver beat it, and after next month, she will be going in for her LAST reconstruction surgery.. :) So I do apologize for not keeping in touch with everyone like I should have. Was still trying to push freeborn.
