This is my Blue Tail Monitor, I just changed out his water dish and he likes to swim in it. This time he was more of less just looking for a way to get into his hide which is behind it.
He is about 16 inches long I believe.

  • Im getting one of these guys soon

and i was just wondering if they're able to be tamed if you get them as babies?

  • @Vudo865 I got mine as what appeared to be a 3ish month old. The people I got it from didn't hold it at all, they just fed it, said they fed it by hand even.

When I try to hold it, it tries to get away and poops on me.

It won't eat in front of me if it sees me, I've seen it kill a live mouse, leave it there, then go back to it in order to eat it after I had left.

I don't try to hold it anymore. Thus far I find it very skidish and hard to physically handle. :(

  • Hey it's daboogymann from the tegu forums. That's an absolutely beautiful monitor! Where did you find him?

  • @spclizdfuse1 I got him from Ben Siegel, saw the ad on Kingsnake and call him up for it.
