  • Yeah, they're discontinued now. I got the one in the video off ebay - the last owner must have dropped something really heave on it to twist it like that. It worked fine with another platter.

There was no fixing it and it's in the garage now, I might make a clock out of it .

1200/1210s are discontinued now. End of an era!

  • It was a slightly twisted platter.

  • @urbanvibration Did you get it replaced?

  • Yeah. Got one on ebay for a few quid.

  • @truesouljs WHERE CAN I FIND A NEW 1210 mk2 €250

  • HTFR are charging £949 Sterling/€1077.15 each for 1210 mk2's. That's robbery! I got a brand new 1210 mk2 yesterday fully boxed for €250 from a guy who used to work for Panasonic. People if you're in the market for Technics decks search eBay or some other internet sites. You can still get them for some fairly decent prices. Even if they're 2nd hand, they'll most likely be in good working order. These turntables really are built to last! Peace everybody.

  • To anyone who ever has this problem again here is a video that could help you a bunch. Check out ellaskin's video "Does the platter wobble too much on your sl1200?"

  • @ceviche666 Yeah man, they were discontinued a few months back. Was lucky enough to grab mine before the prices started skyrocketing >_<

  • Technics are the industry standard..I've had mine for 15 years, rugged as hell. These bad boys can last you 25, 30 years if you take care of em. I heard the other day they are now discontinued. Does anyone know if this is true? Shame if it is. They go for a $1,000 now (brand new).

  • Where did you get it, and it start doing right away or take awhile.

  • My Gemini turntable does that.

  • how the hell dose a platter twist like that? lol
