It was bad enough when a steer's leg was broken during team roping at the PRCA's (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) 2007 National Finals Rodeo (NFR). But incredibly, the contestants wouldn't stop their pursuit of the injured victim, showing yet again that the suffering of animals means nothing to the rodeo industry.

  • Rodeo is not abuse... I have done it all my life! It isn't how these people put it. Really it isn't. I have done it all me life and not ONCE have they hurt an animal or porson.

  • @Westernchicksroxx The video doesn't lie. Those are actual rodeo animals being harassed, injured and some even killed at rodeos by rodeo people. This has nothing to do with 'how we put it'. The video clearly shows what rodeo does to animals.

  • so sad i feel for these animals they have no choice in how they are liven their lives i know i sure wouldnt want to be in their places haven people rop and drag me to the ground in most cases hurting me. i we has humane choose how we want to live them has animals are viewed to have no feeling of pain and have no choice has i said my heart goes out to these animals

  • @TheCraziewolf Thanks for your post.

  • the steer's leg might be broken, but the rodeo industry takes better care of these animals then they do their own selves. you guys should find better things to do then try to get team roping outta the prca. it ain't gonna happen.

  • @jwebby90 ""but the rodeo industry takes better care of these animals then they do their own selves"" No one in the rodeo industry is chased and roped for fun and prizes. No one in the rodeo industry travels in trailers, crammed with other animals, standing in their own and others pee and crap. No one in the rodeo industry stays for days on end in barren dusty or muddy pens.

  • rodeos are not rodeo abuse!

  • even after they know that the poor thing is hurt, they drag it around and throw more ropes around him. I hate how poorly rodeo animals are treated, especially during the wild horse race. so many horses buck so hard that they go into shock and fall dead! People need to get a life instead of murdering God's beautiful, innocent animals!

  • @TheCowboyrockstar We support the Army. We don't support the waste of taxpayer dollars and the Army's image filthied by supporting animal abuse. If rodeo was a way to make a living, why do they have to pay to do it? They can use the money they waste on entry fees--which are a gamble that they'll win at least that much--to buy food, pay bills, etc.

  • First of all, the heeler didn't mean to run the steer over. Rodeo is a way to make a living for those guys, and they couldn't give that up then. And the reason the steer was carried out on a piece of fencing was because a stretcher for cowboys wouldn't be strong enough to carry the steer out. Oh, and by the way, good for you for not supporting the US Army who is out right now defending assholes like you.
