@beastmodesoccer You see how often players battle in the air, get knocked down, take hits, pull themselves up quickly? You don't recover that fast unless you have a good upper body. None of these ladies are bulked up. They are just fit. The men's teams don't ignore their upper bodies either. WNT had great first touch in that last game. The best they had all cup. They just had bad luck with the crossbar all game and ended up losing it in PKs. Most people are aware it's a crap chute.

@beastmodesoccer What the hell are you talking about?? They did play well against Japan. If you must now, the USA did have more possessions than Japan. It was just a hard fought game. Yeah they miss a lot of chances to score, but that's soccer. It's not like Abby attempted every shot. So many other players missed an attempted goal. The only time we "lumped" it to Abby is on corner kicks. Obviously b/c she is the header queen. But we didn't focus on getting it to her. What a brainless statement.

amazing. you don't need to do weights for soccer. you don't need to 'bulk' up. this just slows you down. maybe they would have won the final if they had focused on first touch and skill drills instead of just lumping it up to abby?
