Since 1983 I'm a great Jerry Lee Lewis-Fan. Jerry talks often about his favourite muicans: Al Jolson, Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams. I knew Hank Williams but never heard of Jimmie Rodgers or Al Jolson. In 1995 I decided to buy a CD of Jimmie Rodgers. After listening to the first song of CD I became a Jimmie Rodgers fan. One week later I have had all CD'S of Jimmie. Later I bought a CD of Al Jolson. The same happened. My lists of favourite musicans is very long for example Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhard, Enrico Caruso, Frank Sinatra, Bob Wills, Gene Autry, Son of the pioneers,Kenny Lovelace....etc and for me Jimmie Rodgers is one of the finest a real orginally.
Thanks to Jerry Lee. If he hadn't talk about Jimmie Rodgers or Al Jolson I would never heard their great music. In good old Germany they don't play that kind of music in the radio!
What did you say brother? Yeah, I know I never listen to the radio but let me tell ya, they don't play it in the radio and don't tell me they play it on MTV!
Here is my tribute to the yodelling ranger (nobody needs but me!)
Superb version, well done, back to my childhood, my father was a big Jimmy fan
