Just like anything else in history, it's about context. You can't listen to this with a judging 2013 ear. This is from the late 80s - early 90s better known as the Golden Era. So you gotta listen with that in mind. I understand that may be hard for some if you didn't come up during that era, but you can't judge it against you favorite rapper of today and that sound.
