@SuperBluepurple TKD has some proper hand techniques. Not all of them can be used in a fast paced fight, some would apply to given situations, but hand techniques are as important as kicks in what makes the martial art (I can only speak about ITF). The tendency to fight with a low guard comes from sport sparring and its crappy rules, but like I said before, that's up to the practicioner. There are no friendly fights for me, for example. Anyway, I just wanted to give my opinion.
@SuperBluepurple "The way tkd fighters train" is too hard to define. In my opinion, what happens with TKD is what happens with everything: you have bad, mediocre, good, outstanding and excellent practicioners. Same happens with musicians. The problem TKD has is that is is so popular, there are SO many practicioners, so many schools, so many tendencies, that it all sums up to what your school is oriented to and what your personal goals are.
stupid ppl wif bias comments, either ur just a keyboard warrior who has nvr done any form of martial arts and a hardcore muay thai fanboy or karate kid, or, ur simple just douchebags
the itf pro really shows where tkd lacks.Everyone who wins in it has decent boxing ability compared to regular tkd comps where the standard is useless hand technique.
