I just wondered, that's all. I was hoping to communicate with someone intelligent - I'm obviously wasting my time.

Pola4u..

You're really to stupid are you? If you don't know where you're talking about then please shut up.. There is a Dictator as leader of the country for so many years.. Bad things happend there.. Now he is rechosen and people are mad about the way it will continue till next election.. I fully understand them and you will too if you know where they fight for..

Respect and God Bless all these people.. Hope Peace and Freedom will come back to the country as used to before the dictator.

again ... the guy got VOTED in BY THE PEOPLE. right or wrong? By how much did he win? what was the final count? This is very important as it will reveal how many of the country WANT him in and how many others dont. sure there are going to be alot of people that disagree with him but again................. as per democracy... the majority rules.

Iran is definitely not retarded medieval country. it has well developed oil producing industry. it has well developed industrial sector, they produce most of what they need. the country has accessible education and health systems, efficient scienfic centres, etc. the only thing that does not really meet criteria of modern is political system prevailed by religion and respectively dominance of sharia laws in day-by-day life.

Irrespective of the development in the industry, science or what ever (I believe that there are high standards and qualified people, sure) the laws concerning death penalty and for what it is given (homosexuality, blasphemy, apostasy, adultery, prostitution...) is DEFINITELY medieval!

no doubts about that. somehow high enough development of sciences, industry, and technology gets along with mossy religious rules determining all private life. i think, it's a result of 1979 revolution. since then the system has made numerous amendmments to make the rules less strict. and women practically got equality with men at education, work, political activity, etc. still the system is theocratic. but the question is how to dismantle it? revolutionarily or evolutionarily?
