R.C. Lightnin grew up on the Louisiana/Texas border. He began playing guitar at age 7 while listening to his father play traditional country. At 14 he discovered and fell in love with the blues. Legendary East Texas Blues Man Bemon Garrett saw talent in the young man and took him under his wing. From then he adventured on playing his act across the Southern United States, including Bourbon Street. R.C. Lightnin had the honor of being the last opening act in Texas for Blues Hall of Famer Little Milton.
