Republican became Democrats and Democrats became Republicans at the end of the Civil War. In the end, conservatives are mostly republicans and liberals are mostly Democrats. Freeing the slaves was a "liberal ideology during the time of the civil war.

I think your facts are completely skewed. Two of the greatest civil rights victories in this country, were won under Republicans. It was under a Republican Pres.-Lincoln-that slavery was abolish (remember, the Civil War?), and the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote took, took place because of the suffrage movement, which primary force were Republican women. FYI: Bin Laden was found through intelligence gathered under both Bush and Obama's administrations. Get your facts right.
