A promo for WNBC's Doppler 4000 from 1996 with voiceover by the late Don LaFontaine and underscore by Edd Kalehoff...followed by an apology for the promo's three-minute length (they aired this during breaks for local news in between NBC's primetime Olympics coverage)!
Doppler 4000 WAS the most powerful weather radar on television for its time, until it was eclipsed by WCBS' Live Doppler 2 Million in 2005.
OMG I remember when this aired during the Olympics! lol I was like, "Why are they just repeating the same thing over and over for 5 minutes?! Can we get back to swimming already? Grrrrr!!!"
Don't go to bed!!! Don't make plans...until you check DOPPLER 4000!
