This is EASTMAN?!!...you kidding me?!...what happened to the "fire" of the Wind Ensemble in the days of Frederick Fennell?! Although this performance is quite good(Eastman, after all, is still the creme de la creme), I find it rather bland and subdued by comparison...Check out the Fennell/Eastman recordings - "British Band Classics" and "English Wind Band Classics" (the second one is on YouTube) and you'll appreciate what I'm saying. (But, perhaps I've been spoiled...)

I love playing this piece on bass trombone.
Vaughan Williams = <3

@brainykid800 really? I was told it was originally meant for piano

@dtownmaverick05 ew? I think it sounds cool :P

@jck1794 The big problem with this piece is it was actually written for a chamber wind ensemble, which would only have one instrument per part. It's a very linear piece and uses something like multiple canons, so that almost everyone is playing a melody line at some point. It makes it really difficult to pull off, so you have to be more expressive with dynamics, to make it seem not "barky" or "buffoonish" as my band director likes to tell us. But it really is a great piece to play!

@dtownmaverick05 Nope that would actually be a trombone and it is supposed to sound like that

@dtownmaverick05 I agree but C to a A is pretty hard.
The audio quality of this recording was significantly better than the visual.
