I am a Fremont HS alumni and current UCSC student. I along with other students, alumni, and community organizers stand by our teachers. We understand a change must occur at our school but Supt. Cortinez's plan to reconstitute Fremont is not the way to go. We WANT to be a part of the change. If a POSITIVE change is to occur, parents and community members should be allowed to be actively involved in the process. Fremont High School is OUR school.
Thanks to everyone who showed up. Your support is appreciated. :)

In case you are not aware of what is happening:
Fremont High School is being reconstituted. This means that all of the teachers have been fired and the local district will decide who gets hired back and what the "new Fremont High" will look like without any input from the teachers, students and parents (which includes destroying existing SLCs, even the ones that have been marginally successful despite 6 years of inept administrative leadership). -E.
