Video about how to install the Sueka heaters

UNPACKING

1/. Where possible, carry packaged radiator to its proposed siting and place the package flat on the floor with the folded sides of the cardboard upper-most.
2/. Now cut the binding strap/s.
3/. Next, carefully prise open both ends of the package.
4/. The package is now free to fully open and expose the radiator.
5/. The radiator can now be stood upright on the packaging. The top of the radiator is easily distinguishable by the grill which runs along it.
6/. Take off the grill and carefully place it aside.
7/. Next, lift the radiator and lean it against the wall in its desired position where it is to be fitted. Remove from beneath the cardboard, on which the radiator previously lay, the two wall-fixing channel brackets and fixing pack.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

8/. Mark on the wall and equally from each end of the radiator, the position where the channel bracket is to be fixed to the wall. For example, on the smaller 500 and 800 watt radiators a pencil mark would be made on the wall between the first indented fluting at either end.
9/. Set the radiator aside after the bracket positions are marked.

10/.Take one of the channel brackets and hold it against the mark. (The bracket has a top and bottom distinguishable by the least metal above the top slot). The bracket is normally stood directly against the wall resting on the skirting board.

Both brackets need to be plumbed upright. It is best to hold the bracket with the flat side to the wall. This way makes it easier to mark the holes to be drilled.

Note that where there is no skirting board the recommended height from the floor would be approximately 8 to 10 centimetres for the brackets to be clear of the floor.

11/. After marking the four holes, carefully drill the wall to the required depth and size to enable the rawlplugs to fit snugly into the holes.

Please note that various fixings for non-solid walls may be necessary such as toggle bolts or plasterboard screws and sheaths.

12/. Now fit the brackets securely, ensuring the bracket channels are facing the wall.
13/. Take the four slotted clips from the fitting pack and slot the two with the thickest legs into the bottom slots. Place the other two clips either in your pocket or within easy reach.
14/. You are now ready to fit the radiator.

FITTING THE RADIATOR

a/. If the radiator is the manually operated type (that is the radiator which has a control knob at one end), then carefully lift the radiator with the control knob end to the left and site the radiator evenly on the two clips. If the brackets are fitted in their proper location the legs of the clips will find their position correctly between the indented flutings.

The radiator should now be secure on its base clips.

Ascertain this by holding the radiator against the fixing brackets where the tops should both be level with the top of the radiator.

b/. Allowing the radiator to rest against your knee you now need to place the two top clips into the slots at the top of the fixing brackets. However, this time the clips are slotted to enable them to slide upward in the slots.

c/. Once both are in position, push the radiator towards the fixing brackets and then allow the top clips to descend so that they sit across the top of the radiator and firmly hold it in place.

d/. Likewise, remotely controlled radiators are fitted in a similar manner but without the control knob to guide which end needs to be to the left.

15/. Now that the radiator is satisfactorily fitted to the wall it is time to connect to the electric socket.

CONNECTING TO THE ELECTRIC SOCKET

16/. Now replace the top grill.
17/. Cut the cable to required length and fit the plug (if required), ensuring the correct fuse is inserted into the plug in relation to the kilowatt rating of the radiator.
18/. Finally, turn the control knob to its lowest position and plug into the socket.

Now slowly turn the control knob to a higher number until you hear a faint click. The radiator is now switched on and within the next ten minutes the radiator will warm up and begin its heating cycle.
This procedure will be completed for all units.
