Spandau Ballet are not a boy band of the past, they are good musicians (for pop music standards) as someone said, they had great ideas for live and they stay on stage with a lot of personality.
Note the absence of any sequencers or oversampling (Keeble plays without any headphone). It's pure live, and you can listen it in the hoarse voice of Tony, not at top in this live but however great as ever. Everything pure live. A real rock band.
The very cheap DVD "Live From The N.E.C." released on 2005 is very explicative.
I've tried to summarize the first half of Spandau Ballet concert "Live From The N.E.C." recorded 1986 for the Through The Barricades Tour, in 10 minutes. I hope you like it. Great band, great dvd, I suggest to buy it if you can (at www.hmv.com it costs 6,99 £, around 8 euro).

Gli Spandau Ballet non sono, come qualcuno erroneamente ha dichiarato, una boy band del passato. Erano ottimi musicisti (per gli standard pop si intende) ed avevano un sacco di idee sapendo tenere benissimo il palco.
Da notare l'assenza di sequencer o di campionamenti (Keeble è senza cuffie), è tutto puro live. Lo si vede anche dalla voce rauca di Tony, non al massimo in questa serata ma comunque grandissimo. Una grande rock band dal vivo.
Il DVD, davvero economico, "Live From The N.E.C." pubblicato nel 2005 e risalente al concerto dell'1986 per il Through The Barricades Tour, è esemplificativo di queste loro capacità. Se vi capita compratelo. Io l'ho pagato circa 8 euro su www.hmv.com.

Visti anch'io 4 giorni fa a Roma. Concerto bellissimo, più in forma che ad Amsterdam, nonostante la pessima acustica del Palalottomatica. Anche mettere Always in the back of my mind al posto di Swept è stato efficace. Grandi.

I saw them in 1986 in Rome for the Through the Barricades tour, it was fantastic, I was 15. At time I didn't play guitar yet. I've a record of 1987 where I try to play the riff of Cross The Line without distortion on guitar and I didn't understand why the sound wasn't the same :) Watching this video now I really like the sound of a real rock band. I prefer this video to the other of 1990, because this one is more as a rock band. I'll see them in Amsterdam on 1st november.

Grandi c'ero anchio a Roma se volete vedere i video li sto postando man mano (17 canzoni) cercate il titolo, luogo e data; esempio: Always in the back of my mind Roma 2 marzo 2010.

Per gli altri video basta andare sul nickname per visualizzarli.

I have to agree Spandau where awesome live and I am lucky enough to have seen them on tour back in the day.I recently brought the NEC CD to work and guys who would have never seen or heard SB live where really impressed with how great they sounded,Roll on October
