  • Can't stress how important this is! 'FLOW' is the single most important part of DJ set, no matter what style or how long it is. Take a crowd too high and they'll get tired and go for a drink. Take it too low and you get a club full of angry people!

I don't see many tutorials that cover the amount of stuff that you do, you make it fun to watch aswell!

  • thanks for your comments and input. Would you like to make a video on this and popst as a video responce? thanks johnathan

  • It has everything to do with harmonic mixing. If you keep doing the appropriate key changes you will 'lift' the crowd as jonathan says. See it as driving a car (stickshift), the noise starts kinda low but if you keep accelerating you get a rush or in this case 'the crowd' will go crazy. When you shift it goes a little down and then up again untill you have to shift in the next gear. However when you shift from 5 to 1 your car will screw up. So will the crowd when you change into the wrong key!

  • Hey i have been DJing for a couple of months now, learned everything from scratch from this man, he is mint and the best dj tutor by far on the internet, please look on my channel and tell me what you think of my mini mix's, all feedback welcome as it will help me improve cheers

  • THATS ONE HELL OF A PIT FALL HAHA

    WALKIN STICK :D

  • @diplomasy : You will need to spend a week on music theory because once you have found out the key of a track, you will then have three 'safe' options to mix too from that original keyed track. I saw a blog the other day that had a comparison chart of all 3 keymatch programs.. mixed in key was the best around, mind you it was not as accurate as I was led to believe.

  • diplomasy when your a DJ either you can spontaneous mix soem tracks

on the other hand theres a better way...

you make a dj set before, where you organize your music after Key for example Am

nevermind.. but if u have a song thats are in Am and a song that is A#m you have to lower the A#m a half tone (the half tones are the hardest ones to hear because it might sound pretty good with Am and A#m but if you want it perfectly it will be harder)

  • Hey man! i never heard from harmonic mix...i'm from ecuador and your videos are amazing....in fact very funny and illustrative...i'm now mixing like for three years, and some concepts like mixing in key are just awesome!!...thanks man, keep on the good tutorials!
