Suprock Technonlogies demonstrates a basic magnetohydrodynamic pump made from three materials: plastic, copper, and rare earth magnet. An electric current is passed between copper electrodes mounted in a polyethylene C channel. The C channel is resting on top of a magnet. The the Lorentz force is produced by the cross product of B and E fields, propelling the water forward. This is the same physics governing a rail gun. However, this experiment shows a more controlled demonstration of the science.
The current was 500mA distributed over approximately 2cm^2 of electrode contact on both anode and cathode. The fluid is a low concentration salt water.
hey im doing something similar. how much force is produced from that and are there any by products left in either gas or liquid and what side is it developed. thx in advance
