Drew Powell played Hoss Cartwright in the Bonanza prequel, The Ponderosa. These are screen captures from the pilot episode. Thanks to PaxTv and Ventura Distributing. "When You Say Nothing At All" by Allison Krause. www.drewpowell.com
So right Dreamcatcher, I dont think they did their History of Bonanza or realized there were a considerable amount of people who grew up with the show and knew all about it. I HAVE given it a chance and watched another episode but it just annoyed me.....they seem to think it's OK to rehash a decent show and disregard the proper fans of it.
@hawkfan1521 Because it wasn't as successful as Bonanza. There are so many glaringly wrong things about the Prequel - The Ponderosa that people just didn't take to it because they loved Bonanza so much. Such as they portray Joe's Mother in the Prequel when he was 12 and we all know she died when he was five, also they said that they all built the house and we all know that Joe was born in the house.
Oh Drew is soo successful in more ways than just his career :) He leads a wonderful life, and you are exactly right - he IS a lovely man, and each time I see him I can't believe all of the amazing things he's done with his life! It's strange because I never see him for any of those conventions... I've only seen him outside of that bubble as a regular, but wonderful person. And then I watched the episode of Cold Case that he's in, and can hardly believe it's the same person!! such great talent
GREAT video. Hoss Cartwright, as portrayed by the magnificent Dan Blocker, is one of the true icons of television history. I had my doubts that anyone would be able to bring the younger version of Hoss to life in worthy fashion, but Drew Powell did it. I wish him the very best. Thanks for this video, lovendaisies!
