I like your optimism but this is naive. World peace hasn't been achieved, nor will it, because there will always be a variety of unsatisfied people, globally. There's going to be vast numbers of losers and a minority of rulers as long as people exist, hence, the childish competition of domination (akin to a leopard's spots) can never be neutralized. 1 in 5 sounds ridiculously conservative, too. Ultimately, humans are spoiled children that can't be trusted once out of sight of authority. No peace

@Texas2979 I understand that their is corruption in government and issues in regards to people behaving abhorrently, i.e. committing crimes, but lets look at some data points. First off, the United states of America locks up 25 percent of the world's incarcerated population. Do you think that there is some sort of way for us to understand why that is? And the answer is yes my friend. And yes to the fact that WE, the People can devise of ways to overcome this fact, the same can be said of war.

All their corrupt Politicians looking out for themselves, Drugs, Drink, People exploiting each other. Until each individual wakes up war will never end. All it takes is one rock to roll downhill and a avalanche will follow.

@Meeks861 I wish War could be avoided but it is impossible. Look at all the different Religions, different Cultures they will never work together in harmony. Then then there's Human nature. Are you telling me you've never hurt anything intentionally? Either Animals or Human everyone of us have hurt one at some point in time. People's emotions they run deeper than any wound that can cast but I bet you've broke someone's heart not intentionally.

@Texas2979 all you are doing is justifying war by making surface associations to the past not understanding the causal factors for such wars, the reason that war persists is because it is extremely profitable, i.e. most of America's major wars greatly increased the scale of our economy and stimulated it, see military industrial complex. To think that man cannot change is to hold the position of active passiveness which will only lead to the continuation of the problem. War is def avoidable!
