Michel Lelong & "Philadelphia" Jerry Ricks playing Nine Pound Hammer live at "Le Carré Davidson" in Tours ( France) in March 2007 .
It was the last concert in France for Mr Jerry Ricks and his friend Michel Lelong.
We'll never forget Jerry Ricks , he was A Blues Maestro.
Thank you Jerry for the amazing masterclass we had with you on this saturday afternoon in March .
Now we carry on blues with your friend Michel.
I met Jerry one day in Port Townsend. I was looking for someone who knew something about delta blues and they referred me to him. Four hours later we were nearly literally "brothers from different mothers." We only stopped talking when he had to go on stage. In later years, I used to sign up for the Folk Festival just to hang out with Jerry.

Without Jerry I would not have had a life. He taught me not only music but how to live. I am so very lucky to have known him as a teacher and a friend.

I am on a Jerry Ricks path today.
I met him once, but cannot say, though I wish I could, that he was either or both my friend or mentor.
I'd just say that his greatness is in direct proportion to his quiet, understated playing and singing.
