Influence peddlers? Subversives? Communist moon bats? Well, Mr. Pike (founder of the Tides Center) would prefer to call himself a "community organizer."
Like Obama and Bill Ayers, Drummond Pike simply funnels untraceble money to groups who are then free to spend that money in a manner that is not available for public inspection. And, true, funded by anonymous donations, he leads various lobbying organizations which seek to influence legislators. And, yes, its true that Wade Rathke, ACORN co-founder, has been a Tides director from the start.
So? What's so "subversive" about that?

They do it for the same reason you do... freedom of speech, guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. You, of course, don't advocate the same question your way, but why not? What works for some, should work for all. I would NOT want your right to freedom of speech to abrogated; in the same light, I would NOT want anyone else's right to freedom of speech to be limited because they are different then yours. Without your opinions - and the opinions of all others - this country fails.
