Help me out here Mr. White, I must be missing something. Does NASA claim somewhere that this is a legit image from a Gemini mission? That would be silly, as they state (even in that very book) that there are no images of Collins' EVA during Gemini 10. Seems pretty clear that would make that image an artist's rendition.

The illustration was never intended to be understood as an actual photo from Gemini 10. The Publishers threw it in there. Don't call Collins a liar because of something done by the publishers that was never intended to be construed as an actual image of the spacewalk.

I have this book out from the library right now (it's the 1970's edition), and I'm not sure I understand the point you're trying to make here... that the photo is fake? It's obvious that it's fake. I don't think they were trying to pass it off as a real photograph, I think it just for artistic effect. At least that's how it appeared to me.
