Dingjo is a single string fretless guitar like instrument. Can be tuned to various open notes and played like a guitar.
The vibrations are picked up by a contact microphone attached to a magnet at the bottom of the Dingjo. Then the sounds are amplified and distorted via the LoFi Amp Kit.

Jack White (from The White Stripes) did something similar to this for the upcoming movie "It Might Get Loud." He placed a guitar pickup on a board, took some guitar wire and wound it tightly against an old glass bottle, used a brass slide to play his newly-created instrument, and that was his makeshift guitar.

This is really cool.. The quality of the results is truly suprising in a good way. Shame old employers hit upon hard times and gave a bunch of us the boot as the scrap bin at work was a haven for cool bits to make things with :)
5*
