Can god change his mind?

An Honest Search for the Truth - Part 5 Can God Change His Mind?

This video is the fifth of a series that will address inconsistencies & contradictions in the Bible that we studied and researched on our way out of organized religion. The videos will be derived from a document containing that body of research which was written to answer the many inquiries we knew we would have after our deconversion was made public. Being 3rd generation Christians, the flavor of which holds that the Bible is inerrant, divinely inspired, and literally interpreted, the extrication of ourselves from organized religion was not without exit wounds.

Our hope is that this video series will help those Christians who have questions or may be "riding the fence" to allow rational discourse with regard to their religious beliefs. And that possibly, they can remove the thought constraints installed by their respective religous beliefs.

All multimedia displayed is done so with fair use intended, for entirely non-profit, educational purposes. If you are the rightful owner of any material within the video and would like me to remove it, please contact me via my YouTube channel.

  • Hey, LOVE the videos. What is the name of this song? It's the piano music from the Dove commercial and I can't find it anywhere...please help.

  • @aarontrombley Everyday - Carly Comando

It is in the (more info) section for the video.

  • I would have liked this a lot better if the narrator didn't sound like she just walked out a trailer park.

We're they trying to reach out to the believers more with someone they could relate to?

  • ROFL. Being life long southern Texas inhabitants makes it hard to sound like anything other than a hick.

I think the message is valid regardless of the mode of pronunciation, pitch, tone, emphasis of speech pattern, or intonation.

    Thanks for watching.

  • God can't change his mind as he does not exist.

The bible and all other religious books are written by men... to fool other men.

    The end

  • If it were only that easy...

  • @droslovinia If i tell you that i have an invisible/intangible/imponderable parrot is on my shoulder, can you prove its not real?, and i believe its real but you refuse to believe me, are you close minded or a logical person?. Same goes with religion. Religious people are the ones claiming that there is a god, therefore they should be the ones to prove it without using faith or irrational beliefs.

  • @iTrollThis How do you actually KNOW this? And if you don't actually KNOW this, but rather BELIEVE it, how does making such statements differentiate you from any other close-minded individual?

  • @DoctorE0 And you have personal knowledge of this because.......

It's very appropriate to have an opinion. But when you make statements that mark yourself as a close-minded fundamentalist, it's also hard to take seriously pointing fingers at others. Good thing you let women off the hook, though.

  • 2:35 "The Bible is clear about God's inability to change, relent, or manifest variation.."

Inability, really? The all-powerful, all-knowing, here-now-and-everywhere-else-at-the-same-time God possesses an INABILITY?!?

"If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them." Word of the Lord (Jeremiah 18:8) There you go. God expressing that he possesses thought and that he has the ability to change his thought! Wow.

  • @philippeclement hell is place for eternal suffering...souls go there and suffer for eternity, now, what's forgiving there? and would you kill somebody just to teach someone a lesson?

  • GOD is not omnipotent. Because ITS not real. PERIOD.

  • This video gives food for thought, and there is nothing wrong with questioning things. This is what allows people to think. But its a fact that the Ouiji Board exists which is a tool for calling up evil spirits. The actions of spirits have been caught on camera so we know that a spiritual world exists. These facts cannot be denied. Now the erros that are man made in the Bible doesnt prove that God doesnt exist. And it doesnt prove that Satan does not exist either.

  • I beleive there a lesson out of this.

God's initial plan to destroying the whole congregation was justice as "all have sinned and come short of God's Glory".

But God in his mercy wanted to show his goodness ! Not that he changed his mind but rather, He was in His perfect right to do so.

Only through Abraham or Moses, God shows His ability to forgive and have mercy time after time, this prefigure the work of the Cross of Christ.

God never makes mistakes ! He show an example of forgiveness !

  • @flamesforfun: Overall the Key to Heaven is to love one another, and the Key to Hell is to hate one another.

  • @flamesforfun: Actually this is not what is seen in Christian doctrine. What is seen is that those who lived a life of goodness and love for their brothers and sisters were not condemned to Hell. Those who lived in disgrace and in contrary to human dignity overall went to Hell. Those who lived in goodness died and went to a place of waiting. When God entered the physical realm through the Jesus body, and died within this body, he went down to the place of the good and released them to heaven.
